Our Moral Responsibilities

NXGEN Solar’s Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery statements play a vital role in promoting transparency and accountability within organisations subject to the 2015 Act. On this page you will find our annual Modern Slavery and human trafficking statement. This statement details the steps currently taken by our organisation to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business, or in our supply chain.

NXGEN Solar Modern Slavery Statement 2023.

Modern slavery is a grave violation of human rights that NXGEN Solar categorically condemns. We acknowledge our moral duty to adopt a zero-tolerance stance against all forms of modern slavery, a commitment that is non-negotiable.

In accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are resolutely dedicated to eradicating slavery and human trafficking from our corporate operations. We also acknowledge our responsibility to ensure that our supply chains remain untainted by these abhorrent practices.

Our Current Initiatives

NXGEN Solar conducts rigorous due diligence processes when considering new suppliers, and we are actively reviewing the practices of our existing suppliers. Our due diligence encompasses:

  • Gaining a fully comprehensive understanding of our supply chain to identify and assess potential product or geographical risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking.

  • Evaluating and addressing modern slavery and human trafficking risks within our current supply chain.

  • Ending our business relationships with suppliers who fail to meet the standards outlined in our action plan.

Policies Supporting Our Commitment:

Our approach to identifying and preventing modern slavery risks in our operations is further fortified by specific policies:

  • Whistleblowing Policy: We actively encourage all our employees to report any concerns regarding unlawful conduct, malpractice, threats to public safety or the environment, and any other serious matters. The Modern Slavery Act 2015 is explicitly mentioned in this policy, underlining our unwavering commitment to fighting modern slavery.

  • Quality and Sustainability Agreement: NXGEN Solar places a premium on the ethical conduct of our suppliers. We demand that our suppliers maintain safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, and operate ethically and within the bounds of the law in their labour practices. Severe violations of these standards will lead to the termination of our business relationship.

Board Approval and Annual Review:

This statement has received the full endorsement of the NXGEN Solar Board, and it is subject to an annual review. In compliance with section 54(1) of the Act, this statement serves as our slavery and human trafficking declaration for the financial year concluding on 31 March 2024.

At NXGEN Solar, we are unwavering in our commitment to combating modern slavery, both within our organization and across our supply chains. We will continue to work diligently to ensure that our operations remain free from these deplorable practices.
